Miller St. George was founded in the spring of 1924 on the upstairs floor of a Thames-side boathouse that no longer exists. It rained, apparently, for the whole of the inaugural meeting. The minutes survive. The roof did not.
The original brief — quietly written into the back of a Norfolk diary by one of the founders — was simple. Make a small number of useful things, exceedingly well, for the kind of person who would still be wearing them in thirty years' time.
We have, for the most part, kept to it.

Provenance
A small atelier on the Atlantic coast.
Our heavyweight fleeces are loomed in the north of Portugal by a family-run mill we have worked with since 2014. They make almost nothing for anybody else, which is rather the point.
The Almanac
A century, in shorthand.
